Limitations

What this run does not show

  • These results come from 103 clips of one public corpus. Differences of one or two points, such as between Addis Scribe and Ethio-ASR Wolaytta, are within noise.
  • This page compares Addis Scribe with the Ethio-ASR models and Google Gemini only.
  • This page reports accuracy only. Live latency was not measured for Wolaytta.
  • Unlike the Amharic and Afaan Oromo runs, the per-clip transcripts for this run are not in the public benchmark folder yet.

Transcribe Wolaytta with the API

Add language=wal to a Scribe upload, live session or long-file job. Uploads, live streaming, word timestamps, captions and speaker labels all work in Wolaytta, at the same per-character price as Amharic. Wolaytta text comes back in lowercase without punctuation; an apostrophe marks the glottal stop.
