Limitations

What this run does not show

  • Addis Scribe was scored live only, as text arrives in 1.12 s steps; the Google systems were given each whole clip.
  • Each set measures something different, and the ranking changes from set to set. No single number here says which system is best for your audio.
  • This page compares Addis Scribe with Google Gemini Flash and Google Chirp 3 only.
  • This page reports accuracy only. Live latency was not measured for Swahili.
  • Unlike the Amharic and Afaan Oromo runs, the per-clip transcripts for this run are not in the public benchmark folder yet.

Transcribe Swahili with the API

Add language=sw to a Scribe upload, live session or long-file job. Uploads, live streaming, word timestamps, captions all work in Swahili, at the same per-character price as Amharic. Swahili text comes back with capital letters, punctuation and numbers as digits. Speaker labels are not available in Swahili.
